VOLUNTEERS:

Ecotourism

2 Experienced volunteers who can assist in training and capacity building local communities in ecotourism and assist with the management of a chimp tracking tourist site.

Construction

JGI is working with local communities to build schools and tourist sites. We are looking for a volunteer with construction experience to help supervise these projects. They need to know carpentry and masonry in particular.

Law Enforcement

A person with field experience in wildlife law enforcement and training is required for assisting in training of local community members who are working with JGI and the National Forestry Authority to protect Budongo Forest Reserve.

Field Surveys

JGI in partnership with the Budongo Field Conservation Station (hyperlink to www.budongo.org) and the National Forestry Authority will be carrying out chimpanzee census in Budongo Forest early 2008. We have 2 placements available for person with field experience in primatology to assist the field teams. This is a 3 month placement.
